Before you state your disbelief in horoscopes and skipping this article completely, let me tell you this
- I did not believe in the horoscope for the first 30 years of my life.
- Four of my friends told me that horoscope is only 50% reliable (and guess what, they are all Cancerians .)
- I’m not going to talk about prediction or the best matches for Scorpios.
But I’m going to go deep into the character of this often notorious signs that often caused them heartaches and destruction. And explore how meditation could tame the dark nature of the Scorpio.
The Good And Ugly Side Of A Scorpio
The Ugly
Think Scorpio and think Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry or Hillary Clinton.
Or it could be that someone in your circle of friends who don’t take kindly to lies and betrayal. You wouldn’t want to be on the path of a Scorpio who’s bent on exacting revenge.
Scorpios hide their feeling well. You probably won’t notice anything. But you can be sure that a vengeful Scorpio is manipulative and they hold grudges for a long time. (Think in terms of years rather than days)
Yes. It’s that bad.
While they can be intensely romantic partners, their jealousy and possessiveness often proved to be the undoing of their own relationships.
A sign of the water element, you won’t see their wrath coming until it’s too late. Scorpios hide their emotion well under their often calm appearance.
“Still water runs deep” is the perfect phrase that goes with this sign.
The Good
While Scorpios could swing to the extreme negatives, they do have their own noble traits that could really shine if they could tame their darker nature.
Those born under this sign are said to be focused, resourceful and independent. They are resilient in a hard time (although it doesn’t mean they don’t get stressed up).
They are highly competitive and their strong-willed nature borders into stubbornness. You just can’t easily change a Scorpio’s mind once he is set on something. (Yeah, I know it’s frustrating).
And, if you must know, the Scorpio is the only sign among the twelve Zodiacs to have three transformations, The Scorpion, The Eagle and The Phoenix.
You would hardly recognize a Scorpio in the Phoenix transformation where he or she brings healing instead of destruction.
Loving Kindness Meditation For The Vengeful Scorpio
When they are in a vengeful mood, all logic and reasons defy them.
Telling Scorpios to stop being such a sore and start meditating at this point is like asking for a venomous strike from the scorpion tail.
Trust me you don’t want to do that.
Thoughts of revenge put them into anger, hatred, and bitterness. A good dose of loving-kindness meditation could cultivate compassion that could bring some light when they descended into the darkness.
Check out this Loving Kindness Meditation clip from YouTube and start meditating.
It could be hard to get Scorpio to meditate unless they are also convinced with how meditation could make their mind stronger. They are naturally interested in the mind and its power.
If it’s done right, you could teach the stubborn Scorpio a thing or two about forgiveness.
Calming The Obsessive Scorpio With Mindfulness
Obsessive, jealousy, or excessive worrying.
They are one control freak and could worry endlessly even if the slightest thing went wrong. If you are a Scorpio, you know how your mind turns itself into a living hell for you and make other’s miserable.
If you’re having a Scorpio around you, you know how hard it is to snap out them out of the endless brooding when things go wrong.
Mindfulness meditation is the perfect fit for the obsessive Scorpio. It helps them to separates reality and thoughts resulted from their overthinking.
As they became more aware of their thoughts and emotion, they can keep their darker edge under control and ultimately became a master of their own emotions.
Coupled with loving-kindness meditation and you’ll be surprised to see a much better person in them.
Transforming The Scorpio Into A Phoenix
Perhaps the most frustrating trait of a Scorpio is the fearlessness (or recklessness) they displayed when taking on challenges. This often causes catastrophes in their life and affecting their loved ones in the process.
Certain astrologist argued that it is natural and unavoidable for a Scorpio to undergo this self-destructive process to reach their better self a.k.a The Phoenix.
Whether that is true or a pure myth remain to be seen.
But what’s true is that with better awareness and balanced in their extremes, Scorpios could still reach self-actualization without leaving a trail of destruction.
If you are a Scorpio reading this, tap into the power of meditation before it’s too late.
And Before Being Accused Of Spouting Unproven Zodiac Facts
No. I’m not an astrology expert.
I only took an interest in the horoscope a couple of years back. (You can really sum up my age here).
And you’re missing the point if you don’t see how the proper cultivation of our mind could keep negative emotion checked regardless of what sign we are born under.
It doesn’t matter if you’re Scorpio or Leo or Aries. We all have the tendency to be spiteful, hold grudges, manipulate and be a green jealous monster.
(It’s just that it’s more intense in the unevolved Scorpio)
It’s easier to train our mind in a positive mental state than when we are blinded by rage and hatred.
Try meditating the next time you’re feeling stressed to the max and you’ll know what I mean. You’ll probably find a guide like this helpful then.
And if you haven’t guessed it by now.
Yes. I’m a Scorpio.
I have no choice in my birth sign, but I made a conscious choice in continuously developing my mind and thoughts.

Hey Kenny.
Even though I don’t believe in the zodiac signs and horoscope readings, I found your article extremely interesting.
I believe in meditation and that everyone can benefit by practicing it.
I am practicing loving-kindness meditation for over a month now and I can already feel the change within me.
Harry!
Hi Harry,
Thanks for your sharing your thoughts. Guess I have delivered my point of loving kindness via zodiacs.
Cheers,
Kenny
Wow, I came across this post for good reason. I had a fallout with aclose (think family close) scorpio in my life, yet again….and we havent talked now for over 6 months….it happens to us every few years, and you hit the nail on the head with the rage and vengeance they exhibit (along with jealousy). not saying I am perfect by any means, but the path of destruction to tear down the FAMILY that loves and cares for this person is unbelievable. I recently started meditating myself. Hoping that a change within me will perhaps help this person (whenever we start talking again 6 months, a year, who knows?!?) to see that they could use some meditation as well. Thanks for the post. (And totally trying that loving meditation out myself, thanks!)
Hi Martina,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Scorpios(if you believe in zodiacs) is kind of hard to deal with when they are bitter and spiteful. It will take some time for them to calm down and sometimes their inflated ego keeps them from accepting that they are equally at fault in any argument.
I hope things goes down well for you. Meditation definitely helps. I am sure that it works for myself.
Cheers,
Kenny.
Great post!! I am also one who was never into horoscopes very much. This was interesting though. I am a taurus, but sure that has anything to do with it. I love the site and the imagery you use. Keep up the good work!!
Hi Brent,
While the accuracy of horoscope remains in doubt, the benefits of meditation have been scientifically proven.
Cheers,
Kenny
This is a very interesting write up on horoscope even though it has been a controversial subject. Being that some people do not believe in it, I personally don’t know what to make of it, that is, I don’t know if it works or not but your post really made sense.
Keep it up man.
Hi Nnamdi,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Cheers,

Surprisingly enjoyable article Kenny. I thought of skipping it, but decided to give it a chance. I don’t believe in horoscopes at all, but there’s a lot of truth to the Scorpio personality. I know lots of people with it. They can be really hard to deal with, and are incredibly jealous.
I tried to deal with some them before, but I had no choice but to end my contact with them. Some of them are even close family. Just shows what revenge and envy can do. Thankfully I’m nowhere as mean as they are. I meditate often now, mostly because I’m a frequent visitor to your site. It helps a lot. Great post Kenny!
Hi Makki,
Revenge and envy corrupt what’s within us. If we don’t keep them in check, it hurts and destroys people around us.
Glad you like my meditation posts and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Cheers,
Kenny
Hey Kenny,
I don’t believe in Astrology as me and my sister are the same signs and we are two different people, but you have made some interesting points.
Simply put, meditation benefits everyone and those who struggle with their emotions (like I do) simply must practice everyday. I tried the Headspace meditations but I didn’t like them so much. The Oprah and Deepak Chopra 21-day Meditation Experiences on the other hand are fantastic! You can sign up to the latest one for free on their site. I would love to see reviews on these programs sometime.
Hi Vanessa,
Neither do I judge a person from their astrological sign.
But then, you got my point. We have the responsibilty to keep our emotions in check and respond rationality to them. Meditation is a great way to start.
I’ve not tried Headspace but mostly I practice from the traditional methods that I’ve learned almost two decades ago.
Cheers,
Kenny
Kenny,
I too am a Scorpio. My wife is more into it than I am, and she likes to point out some of the things you mention here. I am pretty stubborn, but I do see where meditation may be able to calm my nerves and make me a more pleasant person.
I am definitely going to check out this meditation thing. I will come back and let you know how it goes.
P.S. Has it really helped you?
Brady
Hi Brady,
It does when but you have to give it time. With proper practice and technique, you’ll find you have better control over your emotion.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Kenny
My mother was a scorpio so I know too well how they are 🙂 Do you think that even though you are born under a specific sign that lifestyle and people have an influence on what type of sign you are?
Hi Helen,
As we go through challenges in life. We will outgrow the basic characteristics of the sign that defines us.
Cheers,
Kenny
Great Advice regarding Why Scorpio Should Start With Loving Kindness and Meditation .
A lot of people do not have clue of how they are causing heartaches and destruction. They do not know how get rid of their dark nature through meditation .
Meditation is knowledge and vice versa .
I would like to ask is manipulation ,holding grudges ,jealousy and possessiveness exist in some other horoscopes also ?
Hi Sam,
Zodiac traits only serve as a guideline. Maybe the traits are more prominent in one than others. But they exist in all, sometimes without even us realizing it. I’m only using Scorpio as a comparison.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Kenny
Love this post. In fact, your approach to educate people on the Zodiac sign of Scorpio all the while highlighting the need for all of us to embrace loving kindness is similar to my own blog of educating people about the Tarot, yet it is really about how to live a good life.
I actually had one of my worst falling outs with a friend who was a Scorpio because I felt her behaviour was unethical. Our friendship never recovered. Since then I have not come across many Scorpios and I do find it interesting that the closest friends I have are totally in line with what star signs are apparently most compatible with mine.
Hi Liz,
I’m sorry to hear about your broken friendship. We would all be definitely be happier if we all practiced loving kindness regardless of start signs. Thanks for sharing your experience here.
Cheers,
Kenny
The closest Scorpio whom I have ever known was my father, and I can recognise many trait that you describe in him. He passed away a year ago, but I remember how he would often say he could take on board any type of issue or struggle – to confirm the sense of apparent calm on the surface, when below there was turmoil. And yes, my dad was not evil in any way, but very stubborn, and could not bear dishonesty. So yes, many similarities with what you describe.
Have you considered an insight on all the other signs too?
P.S. And btw, I am Cancer 🙂
Hi Giulia,
I guess the thing about zodiacs depends on whether we believe in them. Or because we believe then we tend to see what is true. Either way, I trust that each of us has the potential of greater transformation to a better self.
I have not plan to write for other signs. Maybe I would in the future. You could never guess a Scorpio’s mind.
Cheers,
Kenny
Hello Kenny. I think you hit the nail on the head with the bitterness and self destruction of scorpios. I wanted to ask you though, would you agree that we become more bitter or less bitter according with who we are surrounding ourselves with? Lately I’ve become bitter, and this happens when I am around people who are not in the best of energies. So I feel like I unconsciously start becoming bitter and annoying because I feel I am absorbing their energies or because I don’t want them around me. Whenever I retreat back to my cocoon or a place of solitude and start using good meditative music I become more positive. I feel that I absorb the energy of my environment too quickly and that is what’s making me either bitter or positive. I used to be more positive when I was hanging out with happier people. The people I mostly see lately are family members and they aren’t positive people.
Hi Steph,
In a way, I can relate to your experience. We are affected by the energies of others. On the other hand, we can affect others with our energy. As an introvert, I feel it pretty draining when I’m socializing. When that energy drops to a certain level, negative emotions may set in.
With that said, I’m constantly trying to remain unaffected by negativities. Because realistically, we can’t avoid people completely, especially family members. Just raise your energy level to a very high level and you’ll be alright. And mindfulness can be useful in disassociating from the negative response.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Kenny
Hi Kenny
I know I am embarrassingly late, but this popped out when I typed in meditation for a scorpio”. I’m not the biggest believer of zodiac signs but everything you mentioned here relates to me, I am a scorpio, and every time I enter into a relationship I get so emotional I feel like I’m going crazy . When he doesn’t text on time I think and think and overthink until I believe my thoughts, then I get petty and moody and very unpleasant. I really can’t help it, and me googling meditation is because I’m trying not to destroy a potential great relationship because of my dark side. i also just want to feel peace. I will be looking into this meditation.
Regards
Angie
Hi Angie,
I know what it’s like as we’re naturally suspicious. But there’s a higher self every scorpio can transform to. Hope this article helps.
Cheers,
Kenny
Hi Kenny,
I wanna let you know your article and recommendation had provide me a light path toward a better version of me (Scorpio) through meditation and metta.
